we lived all over there are things I remember ...in Winnipeg we had underground forts the older kids built and filled with hay. every once in a while they would set them on fire by smoking ...in the winter i remember snow forts in the massive pile ploughed into the schoolyard in Winnipeg. I had a friend who was horror movie mad like me so we built all the models from aurora
I built the Dracula! And my brothers built Frankenstein and The Mummy.

We also had Major Matt Mason stuff. Do you remember that?

I continue to get pain, where the original joint used to be.

But wait.

How can that be?

How can titanium, an aerospace grade ceramic ball, and highly crosslinked polyethylene have feelings? They have no nerves. The only connection to me is where the titanium stem is inserted into the femur and the bone has grown into the tooth of the surface, and the pelvic bone has grown into the titanium acetabular cup.

I have had x-rays, and seen surgeons and pain specialists. They all agree there is a pain that comes and goes, and affects my ability to walk, but none can even give a theory as to the genesis of the pain.

Otherwise it is awesome.

One thousand times better than the crumbled mess that it replaced.

Bone on bone, half the femoral head gone . . . . . . . . . . . .
How bad is the pain? Scale 1-10 or scale pin prick in finger to blowtorch to the nuts?

I can see how Racer might relate to pin-prick, but if he has personal experience of the blowtorch, he has my sympathies...

Me too - it's very painful when you get it "wrong"!

As is getting it "wrong" with a firework if you get that wrong - got a very badly burnt thumb when having a firework party whilst still at Junior/Primary school when I thought that that "flying" firework was dead, but it wasn't!

Sorry to hear that, Eddie. Families, eh? Some are better than others, but none are without their idiosyncrasies, stories and skeletons in the closet...

The pain, when it happens, can bring me to my knees in an instant.

More like nut kick than a blow torch.

And then it is gone.

Poof!

Like it never happened.

Sometimes it persists over an afternoon, making walking long distances brutal. Or a period when I am moving short distances, stopping, then rotating, walking a short distance, then rotating and moving again over and over.

Torture.

Then nothing.

And nothing shows in any imaging or other testing.

Quacks.

The good ones go golfing on Saturdays, and take nice drives in their Ferrari or Porsche.

The bad ones bury their mistakes.

It was loading slowly then refused to load at all.

So, I burped the router.

Now I am back to blazing fast DSL once again.
Burping routers.

Not quite as messy as burping babies, eh?

On Eddie's musical theme, we're having musical fruit for dinner.
Pinto beans cooked with some of my bacon.
Potatoes fried with my bacon, in the fat rendered from said bacon.
Stay tuned, we will be.
