LOL Actually, a gazebo would be cool. I could probably fit a smaller one on that patio area outside of the Summer months. I'd have to take it down for Summer, though... I like to have my table and chairs set there...

Give me time. Rather late in life, I've at least moved on to a proper skillet pan and chef's knives. Big steps for a guy like me

I've got the big head this morning.
On FB's Missouri Birders group page I got a complement on a pic I had posted, from a person I don't know, her timeline says she's an artist.
She said:
"This image is grand - the composition, colors, textures, shapes...so nice. I'm totally swooning."
Sorry about my topic, taken with a KP, not a stinkin" k3
I'd have to agree with that lady's comments, Bob... it's an awesome shot, beautifully composed and captured at just the right moment. Of course, this is where the KP excels. The K-3 could never do that (I know, because I have one and never took such a nice bird shot... which is clearly the fault of the camera)

Nice looking home Mike.
Thanks, Racer

Honestly, I think it's very plain from the rear. It's slightly more attractive out front, but looks smaller because of the garage which hides the rooms behind. It's really just a typical early '90s family home (though rather well constructed, considering), but it's in a quiet and well-kept development and those factors mean a lot to me. It's not even remotely comparable to your beautiful home and setting... but I like living here. It's comfortable, and the location is near-perfect for this stage of my life, as I'm just a short walk (or two minute drive) from beautiful open farm-land and moors, yet only six miles to Durham City which is very pretty, historically fascinating, and has good shops, restaurants etc.

This is what my humble abode looks like from the front, courtesy of Google (a rather out-of-date shot, admittedly, before I had some tidy-up and clean-up work done on the drive and roof, and replacement of the garage doors).

And I see it has a chimney.

Which means there is a fireplace in the house, right?

So cook over the fire in the fireplace.

Like our ancestors did.

Nostalgic, eh?
Nice idea Yeah, it has a chimney... and a sort-of-Inglenook, but there's a fully-enclosed log-burning stove in it. Big enough to keep most of the ground floor warm, but hardly convenient for cooking

Ah yes. Still, time to start dropping hints and leaving Weber brochures around the house.....
Christmas is closer than you think!

What's with the photo? Did you shoot it with a K-3 or something? There's a funny fuzzy spot at the rear of the car.
Maybe, you need to have the sensor cleaned. Could be contagious.

If you said it was an "early test shot from my new state of the art $26 DSLR" I would have believed you!

Too many surprises for one day though. First, we hear you have no Weber and now, your dad has a Vauxhall. Where will it end?
