Ah, that's a lovely experience (a gift, really), and a wonderful photo, Charlie

I've never been one for recording family moments with photos, strange as it may seem. Anyone that knows me would probably say I'm not in the slightest bit sentimental. But... I don't know... In very recent years, I've started taking occasional snapshots of my Mum & Dad (like the one below from January this year - I think I may have posted this previously), specifically with the intention of having some keepsakes for the future...
It is awesome your folks are still together.

My parents divorced when I was 18.

It's a miracle my parents didn't divorce when I was 18

There's one part I've never been happy with, though, since I moved in, and it's that section between the rowan tree at the bottom of the garden and the shed... I have what I believe are some kind of dwarf beech trees there. That's what I've been told, and certainly the buds and leaves would confirm that. Anyway, they come into leaf much later on than the rest of the garden (right now, they're still dropping dead leaves). When the new leaves have fully sprouted, the trees look lovely and provide some privacy with the next garden behind, but it's out of sync with the rest of the garden. For four-and-a-half years now, I've been deliberating as to whether I should replace them with something else... Ah, well, another year won't hurt
I believe there are varieties of bamboo that are evergreen, and clump, rather than spread, that would make a beautiful replacement for those trees. Find one that never gets higher than about 10 feet or so, plant thickly, and enjoy.

I clicked the like button, but it didn't take. So I right clicked on it, and selected "Open in new tab".

Here is the result:

I had the most excellent luck to drive with my Mum from my sister's place in Texas to Mum's place on Vancouver Island. Nine days days. A few months later and she was gone. I will cherish that time always.

Been through there many times too.

But.

Y'all went from Texas to Vancouver, BC, and you were headed East from Utah to Wyoming? I mean, there is some beautiful country, in both states, but you wanted to be heading the other way.

We did a bit of a zig-zag. Mum really wanted to see the Tetons and I, Yellowstone. Oh, and we were heading to Lethbridge to visit some relatives on the way.

Looks like a great scenic route.

I've been on nearly every bit of it except the stretch form Winslow to Mexican Hat, and from Lethbridge to Chillawack.
