I think he meant to comment on how much money it costs to have all the equipment and paraphernalia associated with operating a hot air balloon.
And also the interest cost associated with that money, either interest paid if borrowed money is used or interest foregone if one uses money one already has.

Used to give lectures on this kind of stuff.

Guess I haven't put enough coffee in me yet to understand that statement.
I believe he means that, if the balloon operator wanted to fund his business with a loan from a lending institution, then the cost of that lending (interest) would be on top of the capital outlay.

To me capital is money, so to me it read:
And the cost of money for all that money.
But I'm awake now, I get it, so back to bacon.
The lamb belly is thawing in the fridge for curing soon.

I'm not really sure about how to comment on that, other than to say it's good that "her" doesn't have Mark's taste in wine.

And she is going to drink him out of house and home.

Looks like you got a good start for one of these.

Keep it up and you'll have enough for next Christmas.

After your enthusiasm for bacon, and the pork belly futures at the Chicago exchange, what effect on lamb belly futures will your enthusiasm, newly expressed, have on the lamb belly futures in Chicago?
