We capitalize pronouns, i.e. Bob, Jim, Savoche, Racer, Charlie.

All other nouns are not capitalized unless they are the first word in a sentence.
Yep, English and Norwegian is pretty much the same. Except we don't capitalise the names of days and months. Today is fredag den 17. mai.

Oh, and I don't capitalise savoche. You know, my insane humbleness...

And neither Bob, Jim, or Charlie would be called by those names here. If you're named William you're called William. Not Bill, not Billy.

Then again, I know people named Tommy, Ronny, and Harry - as in, those being their given names. I believe most USAnians will find that weird.

I also know people named Bent, Odd, and Roar - perfectly normal Norwegian names

It is with a sad heart that I must report that Grumpy Cat has passed away.

Yes, the internet's most prestigious celebrity, Grumpy Cat, died in his "mother's" arms, after a bout with a urinary tract infection.

I'm not a cat person, but Grumpy old Bob hates losing a soulmate.

But somehow I have managed to have 2 cats over the years, both black.

Good thing I'm not superstitious.

RIP Grumpy Cat. Never heard of him - before they mentioned him on the national news here earlier today. I guess nothing much happened in the world today

I'm an animal person - dogs more than anything, but I like most animals. There are some bugs I rather dislike, but not as badly as I dislike some people.

That's no more superstitious than not crossing a busy street when the sign days "Don't walk" is.

The more people I meet, the more I like my dog.

And she's been dead for over 10 years . . . . . . . .

I know what you mean. Although, your post made me think "yeah, I know some people I would like better if they were 10 years dead."

Must be the wine, eh.
