That's the thing.

Bert is MIA.

Another is @FantasticMrFox who was MIA for a long time, then popped in for a brief comment recently, then went MIA once again.

Kids.

Guess I'm behind the times, this is from 2016.
Then again, I don't watch or care much for Jimmy Fallon.
Pretty cool though if you haven't seen it:

Hmm... We just bought ourselves a new home.

Moving is no fun. Looking forward to when it's all done! The flat is a nice one with quite a view - we can see all the way to our little island

But that's still a couple of months away. Now we have one home too many. Anyone planning relocating to Norway? No?
Sounds like we are leading parallel lives!

Not gone, just catching up on this yackity yack thread! Man you guys are chatty. It's been a busy few days. Got home from Mexico on Friday (barfed on the plane so yeah, I guess Montezuma's....) and straight to bed. Woke up bright and chipper on Saturday morning so my son and I packed up the Forester and headed into Algonquin park. We caught and ate a couple nice specks on Sunday so all in all, a great vacation...other than the barfs. I'll see about posting a picture of the fish. Real beauties.

Happens to Mrs Bob every time, it's the landings that get her.
One time a stewardess said Sorry,we're out of barf bags.
Say what!?! She did get her a trash bag to make deposit in.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

Many years ago, when I was flying to job sites instead of driving like I do now, I was headed home from Denver. It was an uneventful flight but we seemed to be taking for ever to descend and land. I happened to have a window seat and noticed the terminal going by with us at about the control tower height (maybe 75 feet or so). The terminal is about midway on the runway to give this some perspective. The next thing we knew we hit the ground HARD and bounced a couple of times, not quite as hard but we were glad the landing gear was built stoutly.

I'm pretty certain we needed to use the rest of the runway to stop since we turned onto the taxi way at the end after a very rapid deceleration, still going pretty fast. (Wasn't quite a drift into the turn but darned close.)

The flight attendant announced our arrival with … "As you may have noticed we've hopped into Raleigh. Please remain seated until we come to a full stop at the terminal, at which time you may collect everything you lost out of your pockets."

In those days the pilot would routinely come out of the cockpit and thank passengers for flying with them. This time the cockpit door stayed closed and there was no appearance.

You drank the water.

You never drink the water down there.

Avoid drinks with ice too, as the ice is made from the water.

A safe bet is to only drink beer and hard liquor, as they have been heated enough to kill anything that will make you ill.

If so he would feel right at home posting over in the Doom&Gloom section.

You can see our little island, too? Way cool!!

But yes, we do have quite a lot in common (besides moving to new homes at about the same time) - the least probable being both of us owning a K-3

Bacon!

Sound advice (unless you can be sure the ice is made from bottled water).

And even they can make you sick if you drink enough of'em!
