I know.
The story is great, and the fact that social media is what made it all come together is nice too. And it is really great that the young lady got her teddy bear back, as it holds a sentimental value that no amount of money can buy.
I just wonder how we ever got by without the stuff.
When I was a teen, a boy scout, I went with the troop on a week long backpacking trip. On the way home my backpack fell off of the pickup.
We went back along the route to try and find it, but no joy. We made up a flyer and asked at the office of one of the scout masters to mimeograph it, and then went everywhere along the route, putting them up, handing them out.
A couple weeks went by and I came home from school and there was my backpack on the porch of the house.
Someone saw the flyer and recognized the gear from the description, and when they came to the house no one was home so they just left it on the porch with a note.
"Social Media" of the 1960's.
I still have that backpack.
