Mardi Gras? A teeny, tiny little party started in Mobile before New Orleans decided they wanted to join in on the fun.

Truth be told though, our French founders brought Mardi Gras with them. But the masked, mystic societies with parades & throws started here.

No doubt while sitting in the same room.
I have watched my son and daughter-in-law texting each other wihile sitting together on the couch. They claimed they wanted to keep the conversation private.

He proposed during desert after a dinner we hosted for her and her family, so all 4 adults and all 4 sib's witnsessed The Ask and The Ring Kneelie and The Assent. I was the only one who knew what would happen.

Within minutes 10 phones were constantly buzzing and beeping with FB, Twitter, email and text Alerts. Then Instagrams. Then they were all ringing.

It was hilarious!!.

Buy yourself a Canon and be done with it
Someone should write, "Ah, get a Life." But I won't do that.

So Mardi Gras is a 'Bama thing?

And a "season" for fried moon pies?

Well! The wonders of Pentax Forums have given me an education in the customs and ways of the delightful Southern Charms!

Yes. Moon pies are a traditional parade throw at Mardi Gras parades in Mobile. New Orleans doesn't seem to throw any edibles really.

You'd drive all that way, sleep in your car, drink overpriced, sugary rum drinks, endure violent egestion, lose half (or more) of your stuff, get mugged, get diseases, get tattooed, wake up somewhere you didn't know you went to sleep, not remember getting tattooed - and that's just the first night - all to catch a peek of some saggy

I thought your UID was VoiceofReason.

I avoided that when I went there, but then again when I was 20 or so I had a lack of common sense.

New Orleans is very crowded. Mobile, not so much. Of course, you won't see nearly as many "booKs" as you would in New Orleans either.
