I saw some news this morning. Ralph Nader wants to complicate Racer's commute by ensuring the carpark stays full at the office. He is calling for a permanent ban on a certain plane. But, then again, he did not stop VW Beetles, or was the Ford Pints?

Unsafe at any speed, especially if you have consumed too many pints.
Ralph Nader needs to be drawn and quartered.

My commute is a 5.5km/3.5mi walk or bus ride from home, or a 20 minute ferry ride followed by a 17 minute walk from the summer place. The bus and the ferry are both covered by the same 1-year pass - as are all other modes of intra-city public transportation.

The car we got rid of a few years ago had clocked some 40,000 km in 12 years So much cheaper to rent a car when we need to go far, or use one of the electric "city cars" for shorter errands.
40,000 klicks in 12 years.

About 3,333 klicks a year.

That's more than my race car has gotten in the 30 years I have owned it. I would wager that is more that it has gotten in the 48 years since it rolled off the assembly line.

But then it has only been driven on select weekends since it was made into a race car in 1979, in mostly 30 minute sprint races, about 60 to 70 miles each race.

Actually I am planning to. It would be 40 from one and 25 from the other, kind of a triangle. Very close to other places we go often.

Thursday here. Just ate lunch.

Kind of warm. The soothsayers are predicting 39C somewhere near here today. The hottest ever day in UK.

BTW, why do people say UK as you-kay rather that as Uk, to rhyme with Yuk?

Probably because it's based on two separate words (i.e. United KIngdom) and not one.

Moving to where one has pleasure is better than moving closer to work
