Now I have to wonder, why anyone would pay that much for a gas guzzler, when they could have a diesel pickup that gets the same or better fuel economy, for about $75,000 or so, depending on options and trim levels.

My 2001 Ram 3500 has gotten as high as 20 mpg, and regularly gets 17 or so.

And it was only $35,000 new.
Fun fact: No-one sells a petrol ute here. Only diesels being made.

Too bad for the photographer who missed it.
Oh, but they'll have plenty of sunsets until the last of the year on November 26th. Then their next sunrise will be January 15th.

Nope, no plans to spend the winter there

About that same time my dad had rounded up 4 or 5 of them

Ah, that's what I don't like about American "football" - the loud commercials waking you up every 90 seconds!

And I'm busy with my r&r. No time to save Tokyo right now.

* - we do have two electric car charging points in town... no-one ever uses them (currently, that is)...
The latest numbers I saw (for June, I think) more than half of new cars sold in Norway were fully electric. Quite a lot of those are Teslas. Elon Musk claims he loves Norway. He has every reason to!

Edit: We have a charging point in our garage - the previous owner had an electric BMW.

Got to love I95.
I've driven I95 from Miami, Floriduh to Fairfield, Maine. The entire distance sucks.

The West Coast equivalent, I5, is not quite so bad, still having a considerable portion of free flowing rural stretches devoid of excessive gridlock and congestion.

Funnily enough, we also have a charging point in our garage. I seem to remember some years ago our government offered grants to folks who wanted to have them installed, and the previous owners of my property went ahead with it. I don't believe they actually owned an electric vehicle, though

Most of the price differential is caused by taxes. The price around the US can vary heavily depending upon local taxes. In New York state where I live each gallon of gasoline carries a road usage tax. The money is for highway maintenance. It sounds like a really good idea until one finds out that our roads suck and only 22% of the money collected actually goes for highway maintenance.

Missouri has the 3rd lowest gasoline tax at $0.17.4 per gallon.
Next door, in Illinois, it's $0.35.2, and that's where a lot of the area;s gas gets refined. A lot of IL folks cross that Big River to fill up.
GasBuddy shows the highs and lows, all of the highs are in IL, lows in MO.

That was when he was a teenager.

Interesting to note that I look like his twin. My sister, a year younger also looks like him (and my sister and I were often mistaken for twins growing up). My kid brother, 10 years younger than I, looks nothing like any of us.

They should do what Singapore does. Singapore cars going to Johor have the fuel gauge checked st the border on the way out of country and then on the way back in. If they have more fuel coming back they pay tax on it. Stops the short petroleum buying holiday abroad.

I have lived in the same area since 1970, and 4 miles from Granite Falls for 15 years. Even though Granite Falls is closer, my mail is served by the Arlington post office, 25 miles away.

Last year was the first time I ever attended the Arlington Show and Shine car show. I missed it this year even though I vowed to go again.

I made 200 shutter actuations with my K-1.

Of those I deleted 7.

I am now processing/culling through 193 images.

Be prepared for more Fords, and plenty of other cars and pickups (utes for you Aussies and New Zealanders).

Cover me, I'm going in!
