Flannel sheets?? We haven't used them since about two years into our marriage.
At present we are waking to temps between 1c and 5c, and all the bed cloths we have on is a (non-flannel) cotton sheet, a cotton blanket, and the bedspread.
We start with a light rug handy in case we get cold in the night but it always ends up on the floor.
And NO, we do NOT have heaters on through the night.

and Mrs Rod usually has a rug over her knees in the evenings even if the heater is on - so we are not just tough!
my wife says it is cold in the house at 73 o F [ 23 C ]

I am more comfortable at 65 o F [ 18 C ]

so guess who wins

when we moved to Kansas, every house we looked to buy had a ceiling fan in the bed rooms

now I cannot sleep unless there is moving air on me at night

makes it even harder to sleep in hotel rooms

I never knew there were firearms made for lefties until I took a Walther 32 Auto my dad had to a gunsmith for re-bluing. After looking it over he asked if I was left handed. I admitted I am right dominant but only slightly, and nearly ambidextrous, then asked why the question.

He pointed to the opening where the shells eject from.

It is on the left side.

So after getting it back from the re-bluing I loaded the magazine, and went out to shoot it.

Left handed.

Fun little pistol.

I also batted left handed in baseball, and actually hit better left than right, even though I throw right handed. It was fin to step up to the plate, right handed, and after a pitch or two, change to left handed.

Really messed with the pitchers.

Especially when I connected with the next pitch .
I'm a bit messed up that way too. I shoot a pistol right handed but a rifle left handed. Swing a bat and golf club right handed but shoot pool left handed. I could play hockey goalie either right or left handed but preferred left handed. I catch a baseball with my left hand but prefer to catch the hockey puck with my right hand. I'm so confused. I am left eye dominant.

FWIW, my older brother could switch hit too. As you said, it really messed with the pitcher's mind. I watched a bit of the World Series last night. Saw a really pathetic attempt to lay down a bunt. The batter did not even know how to hold the bat for a proper bunt. I really miss small ball. Made for a very exciting game.

Small ball is offensive baseball. Bunting, base stealing, squeeze plays etc. More exciting that sitting there for three hours waiting for someone to hit a home run. Analytics is killing a lot of sports. A local historic village has a ball field where they play 1870 rules baseball. They even have a tournament each year with teams from several states and Canada come to play. They games are fun to watch. The hurler (pitcher) is supposed to deliver up the ball to be hit. So you get more hits and the games are fun to watch. I'd post a photo here, but they were all taken with the camera whose name is not to be mentioned.

Yep, I'd take a ceiling fan over AC any day. I'm too cheap to stay in expensive hotels, and cheap hotels either have broken ACs or really stinky ACs. Ceiling fans are easier to keep running - and they don't stink.

Amen to that!
All season long, when the Cardinals offense sagged, I yelled at the TV Play Whiteyball, put the ball in play and stop trying to hit homeruns every at bat! They didn't listen.

My wife played on a mixed softball team, where the males had to bat with their opposite hand. One of the team was so good left handed, that on one occasion the other team challenged it. He was then able to bat right handed and had a home run derby for the rest of the game. I'm sure they regretted that decision. Of course that was in the days before the K-3 was even around (I had to at least mention it in this thread), so no photographic evidence.

Very thorough, Allen.

Fall is officially here, Mrs Bob put the flannel sheets on our bed.
Good night Gracie, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite.
Flannel sheets rock...we've had them on the bed for a couple weeks now.

When I was a kid some of us guys would get together before school and play what we called left handed ball. Threw and batted left handed, unless you were a lefty of course. I got pretty good batting, but threw like a girl. That was back when you could say stuff like that without being attacked.
