Makes sense, I guess.

Talking of SUVs, we rented a Toyota Fortuner in South Africa. I'm not sure why they don't market it here, but it's basically th SUV version of the Hilux. Brilliant car, good ground clearance, 18" wheels to tackle the potholes, a decent 2.8 turbo diesel and a 80 litre tank (that's about 20 of the small gallons, 17.5 of the British kind). And being of Hilux lineage it is sure to be the only thing apart from cockroaches to survive WWIII.

Of course, should they ever make an electric version I'm sure they'll call it the e-Supra

I wonder if Parallax approves of South Dakota's new war on drugs slogan:
Meth. We're on it.

Speaking of drugs; I found this in a shop in Swaziland. No, I didn't buy it - the kids snapped it up before I could.

Did you see the Bronco I posted from Japan?

Well the Tesla S is in the mid 2 second range for 0 to 60, and Ford claims mid 3 second, so not too much different.

And there will likely be hotrodder hacks to the software to get more performance out of them, eh?
It would be a bit harsh to judge 3.5 seconds as slow... But yeah, I can't imagine it will take long for someone to figure out how to squeeze more juice quicker out of it.

The Tesla S is a full second quicker.

A second is an eternity on the racetrack.

Well if it was offered in a 2 door version, it might be OK.
They could call it the Nomad!

Personally I simply do not see the allure of electric cars. Since out power grid is already at it's max, how are we going to be able to plug in millions of electric cars to recharge without totally reconstructing our grid? Road use taxes on electricity?

Sure, but it's not that relevant for road cars. Other than for bragging rights, of course.

I'm sure the e-Ford will sell well here just as Tesla S/X/3 and Jaguar I-Pace have done.

I wonder, is there a Jaguar I-Walk - sold without batteries?

Speaking of fast vehicles, this isn't one of them. Our transport to a boat trip was a 1950 model Unimog. Pretty cool when he shifted up while backing.

Now, where's Bertie?

If that doesn't bring him back, I don't know what will.
Maybe if it was loaded with pipers in full dress, I mean skirts.
