What the heck is potato juice..........vodka..?

Dave
Um, maybe.

You know that necessity is the mother of invention. And those crazy Russians only had lots of potatoes, and no booze, even though they wanted some.

So, taking the only thing they had an abundance of, they turned it into a distilled spirit, in mass quantities.

So, yes, potato juice is vodka.

Vikingfjord is made from potatoes and glacier water.
It can make Norwegians act pretty crazy.

Mixed with corn and treacle, it's also a base ingredient in some later 20th century versions of Irish "Poitín" (or "potcheen").

On a completely unrelated note, I need help!

I was bouldering a couple of hours ago and heard a song I really like. Stupid as I am I thought I'd remember the lyrics later - I don't. I never do. It was an older and relatively well known song (I had heard it before), and ran right after Bohemian Rhapsody and before Paint It Black. Here's the kicker: I remember that it was a love song in the widest sense, quite upbeat and that the word 'You', drawn out into more of a funny 'Youhouhouhouuu' featured prominently.

See, that's all - I am looking for an older song whose lyrics contain the word 'you'. Easy, right?

Now, knowing that most of you guys here are ... uhm ... a bit older in the teeth, and into music, I was wondering whether by any chance any of you would have any idea as to which song I may be referring to
Hi Mr Fox

That is a stumper
So you had Bohemian Rhapsody -Queen then something with you in it ( title .? )followed by Paint it Black - Rolling Stones..mmmmm.

The Kinks - You really got me

Same era or time of release

Is that the one..?

With this crud I've had, a Bloody Caesar sounded bloody good, so I picked up some Clamato juice the other day.
Forgot I was out of potato juice, so I'm enjoying a couple of Virgin Bloody Caesars this evening and they're damn good!
We get them in cans here...pre-mixed. I always have a couple in the fridge. Just in case.

Great day helping my buddy clear some dangerous poplars from his property. They snap so easily in the wind. And now he has lots of firewood!

Every New Years day the citizens of Edinburgh who are brave enough got for a swim in the River Forth. The custom is locally described as "the looney dook" where "dook" is a Scots word for dipping in water. I'll let you work out the "looney" bit yourself.

Love song with a long drawn out "youououououououo". Whitney Houston, "I will always love you"? It was in the film "The bodyguard" apparently, I've never watched it.

What genre of music was it? Rock, Soul, R&B, ... ?

Two that spring to mind are "Babe" by Styx (1980), and "You Make Me Feel Brand New" by The Stylistics (1974)... and if neither of these is the one, enjoy them anyway. Both awesome songs... and both great luuurrvve songs

I thought that was just normal Norwegian behaviour.
