Same here, I get a chequebook if I request one, but the need for one nowadays is pretty low. Email money transfers are really easy here in Canada

Bummer George.

My mom is always getting viruses on her laptop. She has Facebook.

I keep telling her getting on Facebook is where the viruses are coming from, but she won't stay away.

"It's the only way I can stay in touch!"
That's the problem here. Almost everyone uses FB messenger, and the only decent buy/sell in Golden is through a FB group.

Good morning and Merry Christmas!

All went smooth yesterday evening. A grandson and his GF were able to come too, so we were a bit crowded, but managed quite well.
One family member was to bring the dinner rolls. He ordered them from a Bosnian bakery. A bit of miscommunication took place, when he picked them up, each was the size of a small head of cabbage, all 18 of them.
Had to slice some down to serving size. Tasted great, and enough for folks to take one or two home.
I had an egg, ham, and cheese McBob on a portion of one this morning.

I like it when the house gets packed. It brings everyone closer together.

Helps us to remember why we only do this once a year.

So this is kinda older news, but still, why have today's drivel when we can peruse something as poignant as this.

She should choose Pentax equipment. I bet the wildlife would turn their nose up at it, eh?

The lioness might have chewed up, then spat out a k3 to help save Tokyo.

Lioness snatches photographer's camera - YouTube
Does anyone know what brand the camera was? If the lioness was later seen licking something nasty then it was obviously a Canon or Nikon and she was trying to get the taste out her mouth.....

I've pulled 564 hours of work over the past 45 days, coming right off of 3 weeks of pneumonia, with no days off, even holidays, and just pulled 42 hours over the past 3 days alone. Looks like I missed posting a ton to get in on the contests.

Just over 12.5 hours a day.

Frosty and the Reindeer performing Walnut Fudge, available on iTunes.

Mamie Eisenhower's Million Dollar Fudge

Ingredients:

1 package (12 ounce size) semisweet chocolate chips
1 package (12 ounce size) milk chocolate chips
1 jar (7 ounce size) marshmallow creme
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups sugar
1 can (12 ounce size) evaporated skimmed milk
2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Directions:

Line a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan with foil, extending the foil over edges of pan. Lightly butter foil; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, walnuts, and vanilla.

In a heavy large saucepan, stir together the sugar, evaporated skimmed milk, and butter. Bring to boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to dissolve sugar. (Avoid splashing mixture onto side of pan.) Lower the heat to moderately low. Stir and boil for 1 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Carefully pour the boiling mixture over the chocolate mixture. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is creamy and well combined. Quickly turn the fudge into prepared pan. While fudge is warm, use the tip of a small knife to score into 1-inch squares.

When fudge is firm, lift it out of pan; cut into squares. To store, cover tightly and refrigerate.

Cutting Fudge: By lining the pan with foil, you can remove the fudge quickly and easily. When the candy is firm, grasp the foil and lift the block of fudge out of the pan. Remove the foil and place the candy on a cutting board.

Using a long-bladed, serrated knife, such as a bread knife, cut along the lines scored in the fudge. To get a smooth even cut, place one hand on the knife handle and the other on the top of the blade, then press down evenly until the knife cuts through the candy.
