I mentioned that about 3,000 posts back, and Parallax said he was gonna delete some so I could add a couple. Don't know if he ever did, and I never tried to add any later either.
I'm sure I read it then but my memory sure ain't what it used to be. Especially after I was sucked into this thread. After a six pack and a few posts on this thread...or was it six-posts and a few beers on this thread...whatever.

A couple of incidental observations.

First, at the bottom of the page is found a place to add tag words so this thread shows up in searches. We can no longer add any tags for this thread because it is full.

Second, again at the bottom of this page is a small section where similar threads are listed for the benefit of anyone who is interested in pursuing further research on information found in this thread. Unfortunately I have checked every thread listed down there and absolutely none of them are remotely similar to this thread. I guess that means that there is no thread like this one.
Well maybe "Why Didn't I Just Buy the Stupid Lens?" is kind of on-topic. But it is an old thread, long forsaken and forgotten. This thread is the zombie apocalypse of Pentax Forums. Shoot it in the head and the splatters grow into new zombies.

Pea liquor (I think that is what they called it)...a byproduct of green pea processing. Sort of like silage made from pea pods other waste.

Oh...man...I was hoping you wouldn't go there. When I worked in the lab, I got whiffs of all manner of rotting stuff that originally was part or inside of the human body...Oh...man...

Clostridium difficile was only the start of it...

I have been to Dodge City, Kansas a few times. There are several slaughterhouses there, and tens of thousands of cattle in pens awaiting their demise. You can smell the town before you see it.
Oh yes! There was a feedlot in Three Forks, MT when I lived in the Bozeman area and when the wind shifted...

I also remember driving by the Cudahy Plant at Wallula Jct. when I lived in the area. Fragrant.

I won't buy a K-3 because of the mystic association between hociR and Cudahy.

I was sleeping!

C. Diff. Psuedomonas. E. Coli. All sorts of putrescent gunk.

I'm very nearly completely anosmic due to really bad sinuses. So, unless it's really foul & strong, I just can't smell it.

I ate something and now there are bad smells every once in a while. Noise happens too. Could it be the curse of hociR?

hociR will do that to you. Activated charcoal may help.

I think those Renaissance Eurodudes who held perfumed hankies under their noses - weren't they called a 'fop'? - might have been on to something.

Considering that people would empty the contents of their chamber pots out the window into the street I suspect that anything that could cover that odor was a welcome accessory.

Beastie Boys? Nah. I'd rather have this...

(The video that introduced me to The Moody Blues and subsequently had me buying every album they had ever made up to that point within a month, and every album thereafter....)

Return to the OP's post (that's #1: there has only been one post from him/her).
Read every post. Why should you alone not have to suffer the full catastrophe?
Do not return until you have read all.
Not good enough? Racer has filled me in on all the "finer" points of this thread. I know enough that it would (for me) be a waste of time to read all the posts. It is easy enough to fill in the gaps after having read the few posts that I have.

That would take all night. (Would you care for another? *pouring*)
All night? Maybe several nights. Time better spent doing things more worthwhile.

Pour another for Racer, he can have my share.

My personal "worst aroma" was a pig lot down the road from our house in Nebraska... Most of the time it wasn't bad, but every spring when the ground and other substances thawed out and started decomposing - whew!!! For about a week, it would be enough to make the eyes water whenever the wind was out of the south... We had bought the place in Feb and didn't know how intense it could get.
