The Pentax endoscopy products were among those that Hoya chose to retain.
Hey! How about that strange weather, eh?
Do Pentax binoculars, rifle and spotting scopes say Ricoh on the back?
Steve
The impression I got was that medical imaging was the primary/only part of Pentax Hoya was interested in. Cameras were just baggage.
I've never seen a Pentax scope or bino, but the real question is whether the latest models (if any) have Ricoh on them.
When Ricoh took over IBM's print division, the last InfoPrint printer we bought was clearly a RICOH (even though the rest of the body was identical). Like most things, it probably depends on the exec in charge of the division whether and where they slap their logo.
