Mrs. Racer 2.0 has a radical hysterectomy before I met her. They took everything, from the Fallopian tubes all the way to the cervix. The scar looks like they use the ragged edge of a tin can to cut her open. She says that staples were working their way out of her belly for a year or more.

Left her without a sense of being a woman.

Doctors.

I swear . . . . . . .

And since it was because of the fear of cancer, she has refused to take hormone replacement, for fear that the hormone therapy will give her cancer. She even refuses creams with the hormone intended to eliminate dryness and irritation of the last vestiges she has left that make her a woman.

She reads too much scare stuff on the internet.
She sure does.

Breast cancer risk:
63 in every 1,000 women who have never used HRT
83 in every 1,000 women who use combined HRT for five years from the age of 50
68 in every 1,000 women who use oestrogen-only HRT for five years from the age of 50

So, for oestrogen-only HRT the risk increases with 5/1000 only.

But, HRT also reduces the risk of osteoporosis, so you gain some, you lose some.

The mysteries of female health concerns often baffle me, but my own mother went through a hysterectomy too, and Robert has the right idea: look after her well until she recovers. It takes about 6 weeks to get back on her feet, as I remember.

Convince her of that.

The was a man here a few years ago who finished his tour of all 630 (or something like that) Red Lion pubs. Not sure how long it took.

You might want to shy away from eating pork from Poland for awhile.

My big brother, and only brother, is 80 today.
Our niece has set up a little surprise party for him.
He's been one of my heroes all of my life.

We had a bit of a wind storm yesterday afternoon and evening. Haven't had a blow like this for quite some time. It gets a bit spooky after dark, when the wind is howling, and the violent gusts are blasting through the tree tops.

The power was out about 50 times last night, and this morning. It took forever to get the video uploaded, and I was right in the middle of composing a post here about the 2020 NASCAR Hall Of Fame inductees when the power went out the first time.

Add to that it has been raining.

Like 40 days and 40 nights raining. Plus we'll get a bunch of snow from about 1,500 feet up, then the warm air blows up from the South Pacific and it all melts.

So the river is near flood stage when I shot this video with my iPod last night. You can her it raging in the background over the wind chimes and howling wind.

Oh, and pigs have flown!

So now I can't say "when pigs fly" anymore.

But I can say I won't buy a K-3.

Oh, and I fell down the YouTube Rabbit Hole again this morning.

I wanna do something like this.

Maybe in a VW Beetle body.

Back in the eighties when kit cars were coming to be a "thing" in the UK, I was waling through Wolverhampton town centre and saw what initially looked like some form of super car. A low sleek sports body, silver in colour, two seats and a general powerful sporty appeal to it.

As I approached the car the owner came out of a local shop and walked up to the car. He did something on the drivers side and the entire roof popped open gracefully and raised up to give him enough space to climb in. By this time several people had stopped to watch as the driver pressed a button on the dash and the roof closed down again.

What completely spoilt the whole thing was when he started the engine and the unmistakable sound of an air cooled VW Beetle engine was heard.....

VW Beetle chassis seemed to be the go-to for kits at that time, you could rip the body off and have the chassis and driving gear ready to bolt on whatever body you wanted.
