I understand that. Good fried chicken seldom survives a single sitting, rather like good steak. Yum!

Keep it up Bob.

Someone needs to usurp my status at the top poster in this discussion, eh? You, Mr. Barbecue, the Humble Norwegian or the Saffer Turned Affable Kiwi.

I mean, I can't be King forever.
Nah, Norwegians are too humble to be king. When we needed a king back when we decided not to be part of Sweden any more in 1905, we imported one - a king from Denmark, a queen from England, and their son found a wife from Sweden. Now, their son married a Norwegian gal, so the next in line will at least be halfway Norwegian - and his daughter again is three quarters Norwegian and will supposedly become queen one day. Of course, they're all quite humble as far as royals go

@savoche

"Some" our "royals" "might well" learn a lesson from Norway!
(BTW, I'm not a "UK republican" - the "good" members of our Royal Family are actually pretty good, and a very good county-wide "attraction" for foreign tourists = "money, money, money" for the UK economy! )

When we fry the chicken we apply heat.

I thought you guys were referring to some frying technique which dispenses with the heat source.

Kind of like the paradox of the Japanese restaurant. They dispense with the capital investment and consumables, such as gas, of having a stove top, but charge extra for the food.
