Of course. Coke on battery terminals in January in Minnesota was used and never worked because it froze. Better was a cake pan with red hot charcoal slid beneath the car's oil pan. Always worked unless the oil boiled (too many beers inside while waiting).

Hey, if this thread lives long enough I just might buy a recycled K-3... if that happens do I have to come back here and delete all my posts?

Recycling is for Hippies. Buy the camera.

I've done it. I always thought it was a redneck fix, but it worked.

Nope, not battery terminals. But we did immerse some gritty, rusty little objects on the farm to remove corrosion.

Well, if you shoot Jpeg you could always save files in the 12-14 mp range (Mid quality). That is what I have already been doing on business related shots where the viewers don't have any taste. But for large prints, really large prints, like 24"x26" I will use the full megapickle range. I find the K-3 menus strangely familiar and simple after using the K-30. Oops, off-topic! There may be Vegemite in my laptop keyboard creating hazardous Auto-Correct conditions.
Vegemite in the keyboard, yuk. That is something a 2 year old may do but grown ups EAT the vegemite to keep the keyboard clean.

Urgh, no we just keep the Vegemite away (preferably FAR away) to avoid contamination... Eat it?!? <shudder>

And yes I have tried it...

My new toy (so much for that part of savings for the K-3 money), it could squeeze Vegemite right out of a key-board, or two.

Only a boy would consider a floor jack to be a toy!

Nobody ever accused me of growing up.
Had to get this, the old one from 1997 sprang (developed) a leak.

Yep, one of those...and no, you should NEVER put your finger or anything else you care for into the bottom.

Care to share the story, this could be educational to the young, to be, shade-tree mechanics.

Cool. I inherited a twenty ton mechanical railroad track jack. Low foot and top pad, about 24" high, 6" to the foot. Simplex brand. Not sure what to use it for, currently looking for abandoned railroad trackage because his thing will lift a rail and pull the spikes. No Vegimite needed.
