That's what we did, too. I hope I'll never have to do it again. And really, why should I. It's a nice place and it's ours.
The previous one was ours, too, in practice. The formality was that we owned the right to live there as part owners of the communal owner - which is better tax-wise - but in practice it was ours. At the new place we own it in every way even though the surrounding property is co-owned with our neighbours.
