I get the keepsake part of your father's tools - that's why I passed along my grandfather's. The girls didn't seem interested.

I've always stretched to buy the best (or at least better) tools available, kept them clean and sharp and after 45 years of this I'm finally ahead of the game. I actually haven't needed to buy a tool to do a job in several years.

I could say the same for lenses but that never seems to work out.

I've never regretted buying something that was better quality than what I needed.

More than keepsakes for me, actually. With no brothers, I was the one who often got called to help with some repair or installation or other (much to my mother's chagrin ). So I am probably handier with some tools than many women are. No pretensions about being a mechanic (as my dad was, and as Mr. Orchid is, too), of course, but I do know the diff between an Allen wrench and a box wrench, and what the little switch is for on the ratchet...

But that won't save Tokyo, alas. Still doomed...

Mrs. Racer takes exception to that comment.

Is that the only reason you liked my posts?

Or are you saving them to buy a K3?

Me, I'm keeping Madame Jean n°1 ... and keeping her "in country"; makes life easier J

PS - Remember that ol' Geritol slogan: "My wife, I think I'll keep her" ... too soon for Geritol and a K-3 for the moment.

It`s for the good of the collective, helps keep hociR away.
And, I did not just blindly like them without first reading your posts.

Apologies! I should have said "Brand N" or "Brand C"... (would you believe too much blood in my caffeine stream? )

Now removing egg from face...

I did! Well, no. I really did read them first. But sometimes, I just gratuitously liked y'all anyway during post-a-thon just because it helped.

I did the same thing but my K3 was sitting on the desk with hociR facing me so my judgement was probably impaired at the time.
