Nah, these guys know what they're doing. Mostly

I've been too close to elephants, lions, rhinos and buffalos. Quite intense, and a decent adrenaline boost, but I've always trusted the guides - and the reaction usually comes afterwards, not during the incident.

Ok, one lion encounter was quite out of control but I didn't realise until later how badly out of control it was

Does music and bagpipes belong in the same sentence??
Some think pipers deserve a sentence. Does that count?

No thanks, that sort of dangerous thing isn't for me. I'll keep to bears.

Thankfully the sounds of all the creatures waking up drowns out the pipes.

I'd love to see bears. We have some over here, too, but they're too few and far between. They're bigger than the black bears, but not quite grizzly big.

Still, I like lions more

Couldn't we send Bertie over to the News&Rumors section? Then he'd be the Piper at the Gates of Doom

Drop the as and that's my real last name.
Looks like the Correllas bird is spelled with one r and sometimes with two r's.

Yeah, birds generally aren't very good at spelling.

I see a few grizzlies every year, but tens of black bears.

I've only seen one grizzly this year so far, a pretty special one too:

No photos of my own, as it's in a no-stopping zone, but still cool to see!

Out here on the Manitoba prairies we used to have Plains Grizzlies, but they have been extirpated, I believe is the word. Way up north in the last while, we have had a few instances of Barren Ground Grizzlies and then of course at Churchill...there are Polar Bears. I've never been that far up north.

I've seen many a Black Bear...sometimes one will wander into the Peg. I've also seen one Wolverine and that was a sight. I was happy I happened to be in the square stern at the time.
