The movie, The Highlander. Hmmnnn.

A Scotsman ....Sean Connery...with a Scottish accent playing a Spaniard with an ill concealed Scottish accent and a Frenchman (Christopher Lambert) with a French accent playing a Scottish highlander....with an ill concealed French accent.

Neither one seemed to be making much effort to adopt the proper accent.

Are there no dialogue coaches in semi modern moviedom ?
Aye, there are, but when ye’re Sean Connery ye dinna bother wi’ a’ that nonsense!

I have wondered over the years if and when, Pentax will name a new model the Pentax K9.

Right after the K-Y is introduced.

Now I'd buy a K-Y for the name itself.

Mmmm a K9 camera ............

Can it also help hold a lens during a lens change .... or
Attach itself to a tree freeing up your arms during a long exposure shot .... or
Keep your feet warm in a tent waiting for that sunrise shot.

Sounds like I need one of those

I once bought a gun that I had no particular interest in just because of the serial number. 012345.

Shouldn't there be a new thread "Why I won't by a K3mk3" ?

If it was really about cameras that might be important. But there's little point in differentiating which camera you won't buy. If it starts with a K-3 destination we are covered. Good thing Pentax didn't name the new flagship something else.

K-doohickey would be better.
I am certain the K-New is an awesome camera, hociR notwithstanding.

All Pentax cameras are awesome, film and digital.

But I own three Pentax DSLRs, a Ricoh film camera, and a Cambo 4x5.

Here is the thing.

As most of you know, I also have a lot of machinery, a motor grader, two tractors with an assortment of implements, two pickup trucks, a jet boat, fourteen Datsun Z cars, and a 32 foot enclosed trailer.

When I was looking for the second tractor, Mrs. Racer I could only have one, and would need to get rid of the other one.

Well, I still have that old tractor, and I did add a newer one.

As my camera fleet has grown, she hasn't said anything, but I think it goes without saying, and even lusting after another camera might get me the cold shoulder.

So I will not buy a K-Whatever.

But I would encourage anyone looking for a great APSC prosumer camera that offers great features at excellent value to consider it.

Well I can't blame you.

When you think of it, an individual product that has the serial number of 012345 just has to be rare. In fact I would say the chances are one in a million....if say that many examples of that particular product were cranked out.....

Now math isn't my strong point...but what are the odds of that number sequence repeating itself ?

When I read those features you want ......I dunno.....sounds like it might be a real dog of a camera.

I bought a couple back in the late eighties. I had no particular interest in them, until the state of California said they were bad and I shouldn't be able to buy them.

Talking of which, I still think one of the best adverts I have ever seen (which I can't display the image for) was for Ky Jelly, and showed a large tube of the product with a smaller box next to it

Happy Halloween everyone!

We get another granddaughter Monday, unless she decides to exit before then.
Son (daddy) works tomorrow, then he's on maternity leave just like mommy.
Mommy is a nurse at a major hospital and with this virus we've been worried about her and little one's well being.
Sadly we can't visit them in the hospital.

No, actually it would be far, far more likely than that. There would never be a serial number of 000000 so the probability of any 6 digit serial number would actually be 1 in 999999.

I have been a target shooter all my adult life and a good part of my youth. Pistols, not rifles. I have, well, lets just say "a few".

I like to shoot too, but I prefer a rural area, where I can plink tin cans etc., compared to a shooting range.
