I was an adult before my family started calling me Bob, instead of Robert.
Grandson Bobby is a Robert already being shortened to Bob by his mom and dad.
They shorten most names, son Tyler became Ty, DiL Margaret is Maggie shortened to Mags.

A bowl of Life cereal with a chopped banana for breakfast. Double the bacon tomorrow.
Our grandson is also a Robert, but he has two additional given names in front of Robert.

When I was a young boy, I was called Bobby by my family, Robert during serious moments and Robby George by my mother when I had stepped out of line, just a bit, maybe caught with my hand in the cookie jar...that kind of thing. . George was my grandfather's name , who also happened to be my mother's dad.

Then of course there is Les, which is also another of my names.

King Bob 1 here, I couldn't get into the video. I don't mind going fast, but only if I'm driving. I've never been able to be fully confident of being in a car , being driven fast by someone else.

BTW, I'm certainly no Mario Andretti or Stirling Moss mind you.

I looked at that road, how steep and deep are the sides of the mountains, the truck (likes like a '70's Ford F 100...going by the grille. I watched him drive, he's very good and I think possibly believes he is immortal.

All I can say is

Well, as Mark points out, the grille is. And a majority of the outer skin is, but underneath it is a purpose built one of a kind vehicle.

Oddly, I was just watching some YouTube videos of a Canadian couple that decided to build a Yurt off-grid somewhere in Canada, accessible only by boat and find myself envying them... Not sure how far out they are as I've only seen the one video, but they have a decent series of videos it seems, so they obviously can get internet at least some of the time. (Perhaps only when taking the boat into town or something, don't really now yet.)

I got through all of it, eventually. I can't help being fascinated by the stupidity, nauseating as it is. Not that different from some people enjoying watching horror films, I guess
