I'm fairly new to this forum, but not new to Pentax. I have been using Pentax for 40+ years. My first Pentax was a Honeywell Pentax. It did not bother me that Honeywell's name was on the front of the Camera. And knowing Ricoh's long history with Pentax, it doesn't bother me that Ricoh's name is on the back of my new K-3. I suggest if it bothers you that much, don't buy one, or at least take a felt tip pen and go over the Ricoh name. But it might void the warranty. I do not see anything wrong with Ricoh buying Pentax. In fact if Ricoh Did not acquire Pentax, it probably would not exist in a couple of years. Ricoh has produced one of the best Pentax cameras ever. And in some people's opinion better than Nikon or Canon. But that is still up for debate. It is certainly one of the best cameras that I have ever owned. You've got to give Rico credit, to take a company that would probably be left to die and bring it up to a level somewhat equal to Nikon or Canon, Is a big achievement. I've seen great improvements in their cameras and lenses. Let's hope they can keep the momentum going.

Cameras: SP 1000, SP I I, ME super, ZX50, MZ5n, K100D, K3.
lenses: too many to list.

Stay safe and have fun.
Joe.
Welcome to the clubhouse Joe! Always great to have n00bs here.

There is a paarasite in my region (although it is found worldwide) called Giardia lamblia. Once you get it in your digestive tract you will be doomed to a prolonged bout of "explosive diarrhea".

I have been fortunate that in all my forays into the wilderness here I have yet to become afflicted with this parasite.
When canoeing in Canada we lived by the rule,"It's OK to drink water out of a lake. Just don't drink it from close to shore, or from moving water downstream of a beaver dam." Best tasting water I've ever had!

We used Polar Pure to cleanse the 'bad' water (which as referenced we can no longer use).

Yep, that's the one. Or rather one of them, don't remember the name of the others. Explosive is the word!

Lucky you. I have and it is worse than the curse of the hociR. Blame a pristine spring just below Appleton Pass in the Olympic Mountains and the voles that live near it.

Hopefully it was not that awful e-coli stuff. Happens a lot with fresh food that has not been handled properly.

Are you doing better now?

{and remember, a K-3 is of no use here}
Yep. That happened in April of 2013.

Did you stop by and pay Ray Troll a visit?

I am fortunate that my home is "off the grid" water-wise, being served by a private well. The water is better than anything you can get in a bottle, or from those water dispensers fed by large inverted jugs brought around by trucks that are pretty much everywhere these days.

And since the well is surrounded by plenty of land that is solely under my domain it is highly unlikely that it will be contaminated by careless neighbors dumping whatever on the ground.

And no chance of livE hociR contamination either.

I'll take any one of Bondezire's models.
Here is what I get when clicking the link:

*sigh*

Step away for a couple days and I miss out on all the fun.

What are Bondezire's models?
