You, sir, have to do something with your medication.

Lye is wonderful as a food treatment. We use it to soak astringent persimmons for a couple of days - greatly improves the taste when heat dried.

Peeled and air/sun dried they do not need it.

Last night we had porridge, into which we usually put some of those black eggs - treated in lye.

The lye makes almost unwashable mess on the plastic box we soak the fruit in.

I am totally immune to the lure of the HociR. I have a sexy red K-30 and it is utter perfection. A little freaking wonder camera. I'm not even sure I want a K5II anymore. I think I just want several more of these beauties. I'm so in love with my K-30 it's absurd, lol. I don't know why anyone would give this camera up, but I am truly grateful to the misguided soul who did, who made it possible for me to own mine. I practically sleep with my K-30 under my pillow. (No kidding!) Who needs a K-3? I don't. :P

PS: I have indeed officially named it. It's The Awesome Ruby Thang. When it's 3 months old and completely out of warranty, it's getting some Swarovsky, grin. This camera I think it deserves a little upscale bling. I'm going to bling the white "Pentax" letters in crystal I think, maybe ruby ones, maybe diamond ones. I haven't quite decided as yet.
