I must admit that after painstakingly reading the first 62 pages of this thread, I started skimming. I wasn't considering upgrading at all but now that I know it comes with bacon I'm really excited about the K3! At least that's what I thought I read.

I think it may be a mistake to read too much into this thread, especially if you do it painstakingly.

Whilst cheese is a food with definite photography connections (say cheese everyone), everything is better with bacon.

Perhaps Ricoh is the bacon to Pentax's cheese?

Well, it's official - I won't be buying a K-3 (or a k3) because of that blasted banner with the K-5II deal. It's Adam's fault.

I am concerned - the "PENTAX" on the back will be a constant reminder that my camera is not a K-3, and therefore not the top of the line, and therefore inferior. Maybe I can put tape over it. Or print a label (which would say "Move Closer." - might as well get some practical use out of it.)

This might be too serious for this thread but I bought a film camera kit at a garage sale (for the lens) and on the back of the camera was taped a neatly hand lettered cheat sheet with the settings to be used in different light. It was a sobering moment of looking into the thinking of the previous owner.

They said this thread was stupid and a waste of time. We showed them! (that they were absolutely correct!)

It would have been appropriate to close the thread at 1001 posts, but 1002 (1003 now) - nah, we gotta keep going to 2000. Fortunately, there's 27 days 'til Christmas, and that means a lot of cookie / hors d'oeuvres recipes!
