Have you heard of Larwood. Tried to make Australia join the other side in WWII before it even began
Yeah.
Larwood was just the Universal Soldier under orders.
As Bill Woodfull told Plum Warner there were two sides out there and only one was playing cricket.

Happier memories, I was at the Adelaide oval one day when three batsmen got their then highest scores: Dean Jones 212, Tim May 24, Merv Hughes 89. Could you imagine the crowd when Merv got 89?

Merv got 89

I remember watching matches on telly when Merv was starting in test cricket, and we wondered if he would ever score a run!
Yep, the crowd would have had a great day when he scored 89. Deano and Merv were Victorians you realise!

btw - My niece and a couple of nephews when to school with Merv at Violet Town in NE Victoria. The nephews say their sister used to bully Merv and that he was a wimp: perhaps that is what put a bit of fire in his belly as he grew older. I deserve a medal for having such a niece.

Wow ... tough day on the "leader board".

At this rate, I won't be able to re-cycle another daily prize for the second place of the coloring contest.

Tough day.

Damn. Here we go again. More pleading from France for recognition and stroking. I gave the party another like in hopes of calming him down.

The match I went to was at Adelaide, v WI in early 90. I took my MX and probably Kodachrome 64. With Merv the crowd got excited when he scored, then asked if he would get 10, then 20, then 30, then 40, then 50, then they got ambitious - 100. Tim May was always a hero when he was at school - his skills were quite evident then.

Don't worry ... no one has taken first place yet.

Competition ends at the end of this month ... so, please breath again. J

Eh, contest, shmonstest. Who ever wins anyway? I certainly don't. I'm not popular enough. (Sniffle.) That, despite my ever prolific and emotively verbose posts. I could write a sexy novel about bacon and you guys still would not love, me. :P

I won a lens and a few of the daily prizes earlier this year.

You're OK in my book.

Oh I love you Mag.

A lot.

Like a sister!

Your contributions here provide balance to the less verbose posts, and provide the feminine touch that every place needs.

Some of the daily winners have posted more in 1 day than I have in a year.

Plus what would I do with a prime lens anyway? I shoot zooms and the biggerer the betterer. If its filter size isn't 77mm or bigger I don't want it.
Nothing says "Photographer Overcompensataire" like my Sigma 20-40 and it's 82mm front element. Or even better, my Sigma 100-300.

Oh and I just bought another K3, so we are now a 2 K3 household. The AF failures of her K30 resulted in an amazing critter shot being OOF because the PDAF liked a tree instead. I went through the same agony with my K5iis. I couldn't leave her to suffer like that any longer. So xmas came early and santa brought her a K3.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Bacon hocirR programming....
