Quite puzzled by the failure of the OP to acknowledge all the useful responses in this thread to his original enquiry

It's a copier.
Point it at something and push that little button thingy on the top right, then quickly look at the back. See? It made a copy of what you pointed it at.
Actually I think is more of a scanner since it fails to print that stuff...
I hope in future developments they will add WIFI option so you can actually print your scans.

I hadn't thought about it, but that is a bit odd. It was more of a rant than an inquiry, but still; 80 pages, almost 1200 posts of information valuable enough that we really should be selling it instead of giving it away, and not even a thank you.

There used to be handheld scanner/printer available. I think it was called a Polaroid.

I read on another thread that the K-3 sensor has sub-optimum performance for red at ISO 6400 and that should be a deal breaker. Now I am really confused. All this time and I thought I should not buy the K-3 because of the Ricoh label on the back.

Please advise...I am soooo confused...

Stay focussed…. if you go into the store without the proper focus, the salesman may talk you into a K-3 with Ricoh on the back… or a Pentax with more badness at 6400 ISO. Pick one to be your main issue and the other to be your fall back issue… I have to say, although which issue is more important is not exactly clear. For some of us ISO at 6400 is prohibitively bad on every camera we've ever seen. Once it gets beyond a certain level of bad, more badness doesn't make any difference, well to some of us, anyway. Some of us excel at differentiating levels of badness. Sort of "badness" connoiseurs if you will. Experts on how bad is bad? I hear they have special grey rooms so they can pick out every nuance of badness. The trouble is, once you become a connoisseur, you can convince yourself some levels of badness are actually good, like because the ISO is 6400 or some other qualifying feature you have to be a connoisseur to appreciate.

Some of us are real simpletons… and bad is just bad.

I was recently cleaning out a desk drawer and found a mint early leather-bound Folding Scanner/Printer and about 15 little accessory boxes. Unfortunately, like so many other early office equipment innovations, while the hardware seems still perfectly functional Staples no longer stocks the consumables.

Some eastern European company make a supposedly fitting replacement pack, but I don't know - do I want to spend money there? I mean, really, if I want to spend money to buy someting with a name I don't know printed on the back I can just get a Ricoh K3 from New York.

Uh oh. If he has an older Pentax camera, it's almost certain he won't have the proper focus.

I do think the OP should at least check back in occasionally, though based on his past posting history that might not be until spring. Still, I'm sure he will be proud and awed by his creation....

Ahh, that would be spring in the northern hemisphere for those of you not currently in winter mode.
