Geeze, looks like I missed all the fun! How in the heck did we get from tomatoes to politics anyway? That's odd. IN ANY CASE, let's get back to more important things like BACON recipes. Anyone got something fun I could make this week involving bacon? I have a whole 1/ 1/2 pound package of it I really should use up before it goes out of date. I got it BOGO and of course we only ate half of it and it's got a week to go. The pork roast thing with bacon was good, but Dad's not a pork guy really except for ribs and he's had enough of those lately. I need something not too spicy but that will use up a pound and a half package of thick bacon doing it...

I have always liked tomatoes. Raw and cooked.
Fresh picked, home grown, uncooked tomatoes are the best.

Well, based on your avatar, you are a confused young woman who likes r0ck music and resides in Texas.
Surprisingly, I like classic country more than rock, but yeah...

Based on avatar vs posts, I would say calling r0ckstarr "confused" is being charitable.
Haha...

Wait until next year and I am in a house. I will have awesome tomatoes.
Home grown sweet potatoes are good too, but you have to start with a good sweet potato first.

Check back a few posts ... I put up an image of Bacon-wrapped Jalapeņo Chicken.

Might try this one at home, J

An on another note designed to take this thread into yet another direction:

How many English speaking people know that the German word for poison is Gift.

And that in the Spanish speaking world ahora means now except in those areas where it means later.

In America the term "To table a motion" means to push it under the table to discuss it later. In England it means to bring it up on the table to discuss it now.

So do we "table a motion" to end this thread or "table a motion" to end this thread? As near as I can tell, the only possible answer as to when to do this is ahora.

Alright, I just came up with something - take a famous quote from a high-quality work of literature, dialectize it (preferably with 'Redneck' or 'Moron') and make the others guess the source. Winner is next

I'll start:

"IT is a truth unyversally acsmartsd, thet a sin'le man in postesshun of a fine fo'tune muss be in be hankerin' of a wife."

But if you ask the French, here's what they have to say about the Metric system:
