I just noticed that our post count is getting working toward being back over 1,000 per month average. Woohoo!
(well, closer than we were for a while.)

High expectations and low standards.

On the matter of bacon, I surrender.
On the matter of Vegemite - best spread thinly.
It was developed IIRC in 1930's by a Fred Walker from brewing by-products. Kraft (that big US food co) bought the business soon after.

That actually looks very good. I wonder if I can get Mrs. Racer to fix that up for us. It might not be easy, as even though she is Norwegian, she despises lamb and mutton.

But I love it.

Guess I must have some recessive Norwegian genes or something . . . . . . . . .
It's my undisputed favourite Christmas dish. And I know of nothing else that can fill me up completely for so many hours afterwards. Not like wussy chicken dishes that leave you hungry half an hour or so after you had your meal. Or "meal".

It's definitely an acquired taste. Or put another way; if you like it, it's because you wanted to like it and endured enough of it (as I did) to acquire a taste for it.

I have actually tasted Vegemite and did not find it offensive. Intensely savory would be the word I would use.
