It's not very Norwegian to know how to play chess! But I suppose one good player is enough when he's the best one

I suspect most Norwegians think bacon more interesting than chess

Really? I thought that you guys starts learning the Ruy Lopez at age 2.

No, after Carlsen showed up, Norwegians fell in love with chess. At least the ones that I hang out with did. But they're all physicists and mathematicians.... And let's face it: do omnivores that don't like bacon even exist?

So, Carlsen is an aberration!

Wow, you should be very proud of that young kid, although his last fight with Anand showed that he is actually still human after all

I have mixed feelings about him. Sure, it's cool. But I'm waaay to impatient for chess personally, and, being a student, chess far too often turns into drinking chess, which is a game where everyone looses.

As for the bacon discussion, I find it somewhat ironic that i'm a vegetarian, and I'm currently translating an article about (feel free to giggle now) sausage making.

Vegetarian in the purest sense? You don't drink milk, or consume some other dairy products?

So, you bought a K7 for it's awesome low light ability?
(MK scratches head.) Now why on Earth would I want a K-7 with two K-30's in my kit? Nah, I could have gone there, thought about it a lot when I was contemplating the K-30's, but actually the K-7 is just too darned heavy for me. The one I loaned for a while it was a good camera but it weighed a freaking ton compared to the K-x I was used to. I'm off to bed, not feeling too great and this is all the typing I can manage now. Nighty night guys!

Yep, who would have thunk chess could become a TV hit in this country! I am no better than everybody else Sure, I know the rules of chess, but I have never been able to play the game. And Ruy Lopez I hadn't even heard of before MC entered the stage. Yet now I am able to beat my phone at chess from time to time - playing on level 2 or 3 out of 10, mind you! - so I have indeed learned something about tactics.

I'm an omnivore, and I do like bacon.

And beer.

I concurr. Christmas beer may, in fact, be one of the best parts of this season.

Indeed! I would rather go a lifetime without bacon than a Christmas without proper Christmas beer!
