Mmmm . . . . . . bummer. After leaving my electric power company job of 30 years (and only working holidays on a callout basis or during power outages due to storms) I drove a truck for 5 and worked from the first or second week of January to the middle of December (and also took off for Thanksgiving) I too worked "all" holidays.

So I guess I know how you feel.

But now that I have hung up the keys to Monstro and build wings for Big Jets I get to enjoy the paid holiday benefits that go with a union job again. Sure, I could work most holidays, but the contract only provides for the tow 3 day weekends, Independence day, the Thanksgiving and day after thing, and the "winter break" from the day before Christmas to New Year's day. All those years at the power company spoiled me with paid holidays and paid vacation. The 5 years driving paid well enough that I was able to take almost as much time off and still earn almost as much as the Electrical Workers Union position, but the time off usually never coincided with the usual holidays.

Almost... I choose to work holidays for the extra $$$. That, and i'd rather not be out on the streets with all of the drunks and druggies running around.

Especially not dressed like your avatar. Well, in this part of the country, anyway.

Oh yeah. The clothing in my avatar is definitely not suitable for the cold.
