why I won't buy a k3 (Warning: Satire Thread)

Reminds me of that line from "Dances With Wolves " when they find the bones of the dead wagon driver with 3 arrow sticking out of his carcass. (Apparently film producers don't know that arrow making is a relatively tedious chore and one always retrieves one's arrow given a chance) . But I digress.

The wagon driver laughs and says..
"Someone back East is sitting there wondering 'Now why don't he write'."

This sounds more like the Twilight Zone episode where the aliens start a ruckus in a suburb then sit back and watch the locals tear themselves apart! And I promised myself I'd stay away from this thread!

Wow, this thread is still exploding. Pentax is a subsidiary of Ricoh. If they want to put "Ricoh" on a camera, big deal, they own pentax. Don't like it? Buy the camera and sand the name off. Or better yet, buy a Nikon. They make considerably better camera bodies. I know. I owned several of both. It's like a someone who won't buy "Bud Ice" beer. Bud Ice beer is not made by Budweiser. It's made by the Anheuser-Busch company. But you've been drinking it for 15+ years. This whole idea is silly. Smart consumers buy high end products based on thorough, performance based research. Not a name.
