Our copier tech pronounces it Ree-co if that means anything.....

Still hoping for a comment from the OP. *

*Blatant attempt at steering the thread back to anything resembling whatever it was first about. And adding a post since no one has posted for over 12 hours.......

I think this thread was a drive-by posting.

But based on posting history the OP should be back around in about 6 months. Sort of like a comet?

Dang! There is a lot of regional variation on the pronunciation of both igloo and orange. I know people who would say that "Thet eskee'mo sat in his ee'glue and et that whole arange!"

This is as bad as figuring out how to say Linux (the computer operating system).

In the past, even Linus Torvald has changed. (He used to say Leenux with a long u.)

Some funny responses in this thread. I've been wondering what a name change would do.

When I think of the name Pentax I get the feeling of innovation and quintessential qualities. When I think of the name Ricoh I get the feeling of wealth or being well off. Canon feels like a powerful name. I'm no expert on the meaning of names but I'm wondering. I think Pentax and Ricoh should be corporate partners and not be engulfed by the other.

Edit: Sorry for violating a forum rule, I thought it was interesting and relevant to the topic.

Unless he was on vacation in the South. Instead of sitting in an ee' gloo, he might go sit down by the crik and eat 'em

For me NC is kind of a grey area as to being "The South".
Do NC women say "You can have me", or "Y'all can have me"?
