The only time I ever early-adopted anything was when Exile on Main Street came out. Went to Radio 437 in Philly and got it the first day out. All in all it was a good experience. So I wonder why I haven't repeated it.

I can say with great honesty that it took me several hours of playing with my K-3 before I even noticed the word Ricoh on the back, so it clearly isn't an issue to me. Great camera and first time Ive ever pre-orderd anything too.

Oh and if you guys are arguing about what constitutes a "southern Gal', we've got a whole continent full of them down here for you to compare to. The only place south of here is Tasmania, and thats a whole different story.

I think the term you're looking for is "Southern Belles" and isn't Tasmania famous for it's devils? Or is that only in cartoons?

Why not show them samples of what you have accomplished with your camera, and keep the brand out of it?
The OP sort of disappeared...evaporated into the ether so to speak...

There has been a trend in recent years of manufacturers, of all goods, using the consumers as their QC department.
As the CFO at a former employer once stated..."We prefer to let our fruit ripen in other people's baskets."

I was an early adopter with my K10D and the only bad part was that I spent about $400 more than I would have had I waited about 10 weeks.

I'd ask the makers of the ACMAXX screen protectors to make it large enough to cover it.

Steve
Come to think of it, that applies to me as well.

I used to be, but got bit too many times. There has been a trend in recent years of manufacturers, of all goods, using the consumers as their QC department.
And we get to pay extra for that privilege.

I am working on a custom mask that will allow substitution of ANY lettering for the Ricoh marque. I personally would prefer seeing "Steve" rather than "Ricoh" on the back.

^^ O. M. G.

I was an early adopter of the K-01, bought through the PF link @ B&H. The only bad part was what everyone thought of everything. And every comment on every Forum thread. For three months. Even Adam PM'ed me, "Are you sure?????"

Then a small cult of moire-inducing yellow-robed true believers who left the Unification Church began to worship the K-01 as an IKON icon.

I'm happy it has not yet been released in Grape.

Indirectly. (Great album BTW. Warning: possibly-offensive language at the link.)

Not familiar with B---H--- S-----s music, so the song title was new to me.
