You know, that sounds really good, but Kraft makes Velveeta and they put their name on the product. How could anyone buy something that carries the name of the company that makes it?

You take a package of Mexican Velveeta and put it in a pan on the stove over low heat. Add 1 can of Rotel tomatoes. Heat until melted, stirring occasionally. Makes the best nachos in the world!!! Now that's outside the box!!
Good stuff!
BTW, since I've been following this thread I've started craving grilled cheese sandwiches. I wonder why...

Yeah, me too. The Velveeta nachos got me thinking of my old "recipe" for a grilled cheese sammich with salsa and bacon bits.

I agree, that would just be wrong. I personally would start a national boycott of such a company.

Bacon-wrapped cheese? I'm sure they have that in Canadian supermarkets somewhere... I just have to look under stuff.

Me too!
Get large jalapeņos, slice down one side & clean out the seeds. Stuff them with cheese, wrap in bacon, secure the bacon with a toothpick, & throw them on the grill.
Yum!

A good way to cook up bacon for general purposes is: put parchment paper on baking sheet. lay bacon on the sheet and bake at 350F until it's the way you like it. Good for large quantities. We will keep a bag in the frig for special occasions.

I almost agree with Joel. Spray the pan with a cooking spray for the first batch, bake 375, (18-22 minutes), when done immediately drain the juice and soak the pan with some dish machine soap for a few hours. The crud just floats away. Then bacon keeps in a zippy for up to a month in the Fridge. I never cook less than 3 pounds at a time.
