We had Mac and cheese tonight. I make a fantastic recipe handed down to my Mother from my Grandmother. Creamy and smooth with just a hint of cayenne. When I suggest making it, my son always asks, "Can't we have the real stuff?"
In his honour, we had KD with sliced wieners.

Oddly, we always keep 4 boxes of that in the pantry on the emergency shelf. In case the power goes out and the only thing we could possibly eat would be packaged mac & cheese.

They are great for that, I think the shelf life is something like 75 years.........

A-HA! I KNEW IT! I just looked up "Kraft Dinner", to see if I could find out what company name is on the back of the box, and I found out it was introduced in the US in 1937 by Grant Leslie of Dundee, Scotland.

I knew "MacIncheese" was a Scots name!
