Well, they say that what you're doing on New Year's is what you'll be doing all year long. I have worked every New Year's Eve/Day since I became a nurse.

Spent most of my life in retail and worked most of those days as well. I worked today, but I am not working tomorrow. At least not on the job that pays the bills. I am sure there is a list of other things that need done though.......

Well it's been 2014 here for 10 hours and 27 minutes... I spent the night at home watching Cricket on TV and having a few beers. There must've been 100's of people at a party over the road.. never thought of crashing it though.. Happy New Year to all.

When I was a kid one of my aunts never showed up for Christmas or New Years. When I asked her why she did not come with all the rest of the relatives she replied that as long as her company was crazy enough to pay her overtime on holidays, she was working holidays. At that time they paid her double time on holidays, and triple time if the holiday fell on a weekend. Of course the company has since gone out of business but it was good while it lasted.......

Hi Guys so okay I just want to make sure...

Is it a reprimand or a compliment or just an everyday non-judgmental organizational thing that my original wacky thread got moved into this thread, unannounced and unexplained to me by the Great Elders?

All correct from a transcendental viewpoint. True initiation is right around the Mountain. Look out for flying porridge and subversive lumps of cheese. These will be the omens and let Them be accompained by much rejoicing; ye day has dawned - at long last.

Definitely not a reprimand. I suspect there was concern that the infection had spread and your thread was added here to quarantine it. Whether you should feel good about that or not is another question, and one I am not qualified to answer. But we are all glad you could join us......
