Then apparently, you don't have cats. Actually, there's no battle for supremacy between my cats and I. They know which of us is in charge. So do I

In my book there is a small group at the top. Sheltlands, Border Collies, the right Pembroke (mine was a dope) or Cardigan Welsh Corgis - all fit. Funny these are all cattle dogs.

You might talk me into a Lakeland or Welsh Terrier but I just wouldn't want the constant battle for supremacy.
My sister had a Pembroke a while ago. What a skittish mess of nerves that dog was. Not very impressive on the positive side, quite impressive on the PITA side. Nothing to compare to the lovable, tolerant Cocker Spaniel that we had during childhood.

So if the K-5 is a lovable, tolerant Cocker Spaniel, what would a K-3 be?

I have a 32lb Maine Coon. He's so big I can hear him walking around upstairs...lol
He's a giant rag doll that loves to drape himself across your legs when you are sleeping.

But heaven forbid I forget to fill his food bowl before I go to sleep at night. Ever have a 32lb cat jump on you at 2am when he's hungry?

I think a K3 might be a Collie?

Don't need cats. I have daughters. And as I have written, my cat was a dog, really.

I have a ~20lb Maine Coon (possibly mixed). Mine is the same way. He's where I am almost every minute. When I refer to who's in charge, he's the one I'm talking about. He knows exactly which of my buttons to push and how and when to push them to get whatever he wants whenever he wants it. I still maintain though, despite what my wife says, he's not spoiled.
Okay, maybe a little...........

The K-3 is not a dog. It is an abominable hybrid creature created by the evil Ricoh and that is why I will not buy one.

My Pembroke was actually pretty laid back as long as we let him run the yard and herd the kids a couple hours a day. He was a dope, but pretty laid back about it.

So far my K3 owns me, not the other way round like my K-01. But that's an OT comment in this thread.

In preparation for the inevitable, is it Ricohnian or Ricohite?

Heh. My sister's got a Maine Coon, but not quite as hefty as yours (only 20 lbs or so). She can certainly relate to your situation! Angus likes to groom people too, and those snowshoe-sized paws (claws extended of course) of his do a good job of holding her head still

I won't buy a K-3 because I might take it up to her house, and then it'd be at risk because Angus' favorite hobby is pushing things off tables to see if gravity still works...

Ricohnian sounds more alien... I'd go with that.

I vote for Ricohnian.

Or how about PentaRichonian?

And wouldn't it be Ricoh(N)ite?

Ricohnite is an exotic metal alloy used by the evil Ricoh to inflict harm on the users of its cameras (think Kryptonite, except from Ricoh). Rumor (from reliable Russian source) has it that the next production run of the K-3 will feature a Ricohnite top plate and that is why I will not buy a K-3.
