Sounds pretty sensible for closing down.
I remember, one time, in Finland, the school told us we could stay in for the recess at noon.
We failed to see the point in it because we still had to get home, on foot, after the school.
Not buying the K3 unless it can handle -36 C and 30 or so winds...
Our kids love blizzard closings. Great opportunity to go and play on the roads and drifts.

I get it.
And my kids are home from the school for the third day now. We did get 2 or so inches of snow after-all.

Two inches! OMG! Do I need to hitch up the Huskies and head north with emergency supplies of bread, milk, and TP?

Technically, they aren't Huskies. Technically, they aren't dogs. Or mine. But I don't see any reason why my neighbor's cats can't do the job. I'll pick up some Cheez-its to motivate them.

PS: One of them might be an oppossum...

Well, it might come to something like that. The way things are, sending the Mexican lapdog breed to the rescue might be little excessive/cruel due to lack of accumulation.
edit: missed the oppossum bit.

Won't know until we try! My biggest concern is that it will head straight to the nearest road and waddle in front of oncoming traffic. It's what they do best!

Not very well but they can be used as a TP substitute in an emergency.

Ricoh makes me think of our big old tank of a copier / fax at work and not of nice camera equipment.

Pity! When I see Ricoh, I think of my first two film SLRs and the three others currently on my camera shelf.

But I still won't buy a K-3...

Oh my.
Would this TP sub. be a flattened out road-kill, or a live-one with gnarling teeth, latched to a mini sled

Well, they may not be an ideal substitute for tp, but certainly a better one than porcupines.

Seals or humans. All the same to a hungry polar bear. They only eat meat. We are meat. But they are cute as hell in the zoo!

I cannot buy a K3 because polar bears might eat me.

Minnesota wimped out today and closed schools simply because the air temp was -25 with NW winds at 20, gusting to 40. When I was a kid we did not ride buses! Of course my school was one block from home.

People overlook the ferocious opossum because (1) it's a marsupial and (2) for some reason, it only hunts humans in moving cars.
