Nice! I like it!

I vote we start a new camera group. The G.O.H.H.A.W.ay club.

It could happen.

Not like we're gonna be getting a K3 or nothing.

Right?

You are correct. This winter makes me recall my departed family, especially grandparents who struggled through the no-coal winters on the northern Plains. Trains could not get through the drifted snow in 1881-1882. No fuel. No,food. They survived and prospered. My Minnesota Finn ancestors were digging iron in underground mines. Until the Little Rabbit mine collapsed and flooded catastrophically. The mine was an underground, dug after the Company pumped and drained the small lake above. Well, the pumps failed, dozens of miners died. When I was a kid, Dad would take me fishing on Little Rabbit, and tell me how the lake was stolen and men died. And then the pumps turned off and the lake filled again, in a mockery of the flood that killed so many.
I guess I won't buy a K3 for a while.

I don't hate Hocir. And you just bought a K5iis. You announced it. So, just post images from your new cam and we can dream about owning one.

It gets better. Parenthood is a job, not a position; but sounds like you grasp that.

There are days when I seriously question my sanity at having had more than one.

Was your Granddad a Finn perhaps?

It is still in transit, and I am barely halfway through my current lap of North America. Sitting in a Loves truck stop at Ripley, West Virginia. Stopped at Fort Bragg, North Carolina this morning after spending 3 days at a dive truck stop in Dunn, North Carolina fending off hookers beating on my door and panhandlers begging for money.

Tomorrow I pick up just over 35,000lbs of aluminum plate at the Ravenswood Alcoa plant (7 pieces, do the math) to go with the 4 portable 500 gallon jet fuel tanks I got at the Army base today.

Then it is time to high tail it back to the Mother Ship, while skiing my way through the storm that is battering the Midwest.

Should I succeed and get home sometime before the Spring Thaw, the K5IIs will be waiting patiently for me, ready to make beautiful photographs of the hociR.

No idea. His last name was Herring. I know there's some Cherokee, Navajo, Irish and Dutch between my parents. But I don't know what else.

You call this work? I sit on my butt for 10 to 11 hours a day. Holding a steering wheel and stirring a box full of metal things with spikes on them swimming in gear lube.

Oh, and dealing with dipsticks.

Of course the thousands of miles of staring at the white lines zipping by is punctuated by a periodic flurry of activity where items of bondage are involved, like chains and straps.

What I did for 30 years was work.

This is just watching the world go by.

LOOK!

There goes hociR!

Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life.

Like your attitude, Racer. Good luck missing the ice storm aimed at Georgia.

That's right!

I've been fortunate that for 30 years I worked on these, and enjoyed most every minute.

Now this is my viewpoint.

And what makes it even better is that I don't have to do it, I want to do it.

And the K3 does not have its grip on me.

Amen!

I do love being a nurse. Some days are busier than others, more hectic than others, but I truly do love nursing. It is physically, mentally & emotionally demanding though.
