I'm currently watching RoboCop (1987) with my son. The basis is that Detroit, Michigan is on the verge of collapse due to financial ruin & skyrocketing crime. Gee, why does that sound soooo familiar?

Well, that link might not work. But Time published a photo essay of the decay of Detroit. I believe they also wrote about why Detroit was in such decline.

It is still in transit, and I am barely halfway through my current lap of North America. Sitting in a Loves truck stop at Ripley, West Virginia. Stopped at Fort Bragg, North Carolina this morning after spending 3 days at a dive truck stop in Dunn, North Carolina fending off hookers beating on my door and panhandlers begging for money.

Tomorrow I pick up just over 35,000lbs of aluminum plate at the Ravenswood Alcoa plant (7 pieces, do the math) to go with the 4 portable 500 gallon jet fuel tanks I got at the Army base today.

Then it is time to high tail it back to the Mother Ship, while skiing my way through the storm that is battering the Midwest.

Should I succeed and get home sometime before the Spring Thaw, the K5IIs will be waiting patiently for me, ready to make beautiful photographs of the hociR.
I used to make a very good living hauling rolls of aluminum from Oswego, NY to Milwaukee (3 guesses what that was going to become) and then going a bit north, loading John Deere garden equipment and hauling it the other way.

Alan Tudyk (Wash from Firefly/Serenity)

KIT from Knight Rider

I haven't edited anything yet. I spent two hours just cleaning out the duplicitous "mobile uploads" album of multiple backup copies of the same pictures from 2 phones ago...

I know possum make excellent road-kill but I didn't know they make dams too!
They are very handy ... you can stuff the dead carcasses into any hole or leak of the damn ... the possum stew works like a water-proof sealant, too ... Maybe this the secret of "WR" for the K-3, thus another reason not to get it ...

A hociR is on the way to my doorstep
No, no................ I think there's a loophole here.
The subject* title of the thread is "why I won't buy a K-3".
Once your hociR arrives, you will the have one, which is a pretty good reason not to buy one.

* The original subject was actually: 1cry

Have a cheese and lutefisk sandwich. You'll feel better.
If there is one certain thing in this world, it's that a cheese and lutefisk sandwich will not make me fell better!

Now, where did I put that bottle...

Fish is good for you.

And bad for hociR.
What's fish got to do with anything? We were talking about lutefisk.

Ok, lutefisk did start out as fish, true, but after a long transformation through destructive processing it is no longer good for you. Not for anyone. With the possible exception of hociR.

Did you know that about every 5 years you can re-watch the whole Serenity DVDs and they're good all over again?

Don't get started on 24 though, that becomes a major undertaking. The scariest thing about 24 is that I have all the acting skills needed to play Kiefer Sutherland's role, I can purse my lips and say "do it now" as good as anybody.

I suppose once I have it I will have a bag full of reasons as to why no one else should!
