$475? That's about right. It is 'cold, dead fingers' nice . . . . . You can have any other lens I own first. Mine is the only thing in my will that actually is mentioned in a Codicil.

And 1 kg nice?
What's a little daily 4 lb. arm curls if necessary to handhold a K200/2.5?

Among the Pentaxian legends I've heard, the "m" was for "mini" and was the primary name (that's what it was in Japan); the "2000" was an attempt to use K1000 nostalgia in the American market. Also according to legend, this was about the time that the Hoya nephew/son/"special needs" child in charge ditched the existing number progression and started tinkering with the naming scheme - "K-7" instead of "K30D" because he was into mountain climbing or some such. "2000" would make a little more sense in a K20D/K200D/K2000D lineup, except they left off the D; plus at that point, "making sense" and "Pentax marketing" were no longer on speaking terms.

You've almost convinced me. My sensible side knows I won't be using it, though, and that's just too bad a fate for a lens like this.

I'm doing more than that, but that's pure self defence!

Not so much a misquote as a sideways and extremely appropriate reference. Kudos to the playwright! (It may not be clear, but the statement was made by More in reference to Rich.)

Steve
Fair enough. I concede to calling it an appropriate reference.

Artistic license as opposed to a mis-quote, I suppose.

Poor excuse.
Buy another one, and introduce it slowly, you know, like you do with a new puppy or kitten. The first day or two leave it in the box where your current one can see it. Then take it out a few times a day and hold them next to each other (Not too close!). After a few days you should be able to leave them alone in the same room, but I'd wait a week or two before putting them together in the same camera bag.
Maybe cover the hociR on your current one with gaffer's tape so it will feel superior, and that it's getting special treatment.

Good tips...

Any rules about getting them wet or feeding them after midnight?

I won't buy a K-3 because 3 is not my favorite number. I much prefer the numbers 135 and 77. When they release the K-77 and K-135, I'll buy them for sure.

(I can't believe I had never posted in this thread...)

Join the fun!

Just be aware, If you haven't noticed from reading through the 5000+ posts, (If you haven't, you need to start. There will be a quiz.), we tolerate very little on-topic discussion.
