What the hell WAS he using the chains for in a little dusting and sleet.
I thought the same when I saw the chains, but by 4:30, the unplowed roads (I saw ZERO plows outside of a certain suburb that has a reputation for being a bunch of fer'ners and yankees) were hard-pack with some nice freezing rain coming on top of it. On the hills, chains would have been nice.
Of course, since everyone guessed wrong and left work at the same time just as it started coming down good, next time all the businesses will close a week in advance. I was lucky to have a meeting, so I just waited until everyone else had gotten home or abandoned their vehicles. There was a slight panic when the snack machine lost power, but we had a plan to shoot out the lock if necessary.
