We could make rope from duct tape, right?

I can't run anymore since they replaced my hip.
Hold on now! I have an artificial hip, genuine titanium and I can ......

Nope. Tried. Can't.

Channel Locks (for the old one), Thread Tape, Crescent Wrench, 5 minutes and Voila!

Compared to my newly-married son's old married people are so easy. Unless Hocir made shower heads. Then I wouldn't buy one.

See?

Actually I can run, but it isn't fun, and the orthopedic surgeon advised against any high impact activities.

Mine is a Stryker. Two years old last Christmas.

What brand is yours? How long have you had it?

2 digital pentax bodies, and auto 110. I left most of my legacy stuff with my parents back in Alabama. A K1000, ME Super, and a Spotmatic.

My hociR is still on the way.

<sigh> Sorry, I have plans for it (have to rebuild part of the orchid house), but that's why I can't toss any money to Hocir. For the time being, anyway...

We do build our own PCs. Have for years. I can remember ordering "bare bones" kits from the ads in the back of one of the computer magazines. Before e-commerce took over the world. And they sent a printed catalogue with your order...
I do build my own computers and more often rebuild my own computers. Not cutting edge stuff but functional. Didn't grow doing it. In fact I didn't have a PC until 2000! A Windows ME machine! My son is the computer guru and I have been shadowing him to learn all I can! My laptop is a hand me down Dell that I got for free.(I'm really cheap!)
QuoteOriginally posted by Racer X 69 Quote
Each of the desktop machines I have built cost about $1,000 to buy the components. When people learn of my technical skills they ask if I can build one for them, and when I tell them what the parts will cost and that I want something for my labor the balk and whine that "So and so had a computer for $200!"
My latest PC cost a total of $250 for all components! Not cutting edge but very workable! Son picked out the components and we built it as a team.
We used a gaming box for ease of access and upgrade. Which works well when I have to yank the hard drive out of the laptop and plug it into the PC like yesterday!

You're making me feel guilty, now, for all the accumulated parts and pieces of the PCs that I intended to build/rebuild and never did...

With all those parts just lying around maybe Racer and will keep in touch - we obviously need spare parts and the occasional re-build.
