Noise can be controlled up to ISO 3200 if exposure is good. If. Topaz DeNoise in CS6 works well with this. Shooting in RAW DNG with all in camera noise reduction and other corrections (DR related etc) set to zero.

Just kidding. Congratulations. I'm not sure what you mean by tips for the raw shooter. The only difference between shooting raw and shooting jpeg is that you have more control over the final version with raw. All the same principles apply; you just have a greater "oops" latitude with raw.
