I had a bout with that that started in '09, for no apparent reason, and lasted until about a year and a half ago. At times standing up from a chair was agony, and any other movement wasn't much les painful. There was no position I could lay in that was pain free. Then it went away. I haven't had a problem, other than some occasional minor discomfort for some time now.
What's your secret?

I have degenerative disc disease in my cervical spine, the aftermath of the thoracic compression fractures, and 2 ruptured lumbar discs. Adaily regimen of a certain little pill helps but is not a permanent cure.

I stretch.

I use heat, sometimes ice.

I get a massage when it can be worked into the schedule. The Newell truck plaza in Newton Kansas has some Chinese gals upstairs that give a killer massage for $50, but I don't get by there often enough! The turn 3 of them loose all at once, and it is like the Swedish deepo tissue work, from head to toe, frontal and dorsal. Excellent and highly recommended!

Used the Teeter thing until the hip revision and the surgeon says there is a risk that it could pull the stem out, so I haven't done that for a couple years.

I have a TENS unit, but like most everything else it is purely palliative.

Talked to a spinal surgeon a while back. He says none of it is bad enough to warrant the risks of surgery. And based on the poor results other people I know who have had "repairs" done to their spine, I have to agree that surgical solutions may never be an option.

And I blame it all on the hociR.

Research center is in my garage! I have an old microscope somewhere we can hook it up to a hociR.

That would certainly find us a cure.

We could use the microscope to look at an amoeba.

Yes, science class. I hear they don't have that kind of stuff in schools anymore. Autoshop and woodshop either.

I remember in high school we dissected giant earthworms and frogs.

And the high school I went to in Oregon had a full year of "shop" for the freshmen that was 4 quarters.

One quarter was drafting. I designed the workbench and mini bike frame I built in metal shop and wood shop.

One quarter was power mechanics, and I took apart a small engine and rebuilt it.

Another quarter was metal shop. I fabricated a mini bike frame.

The next quarter was wood shop. I made the seat for the mini bike, and built a workbench.

School was fun then.

You are correct sir, its a shame that kids wont learn these valuable skills. I sometimes wonder what the hell these people are thinking. Thats how I know I am getting old.

I have heard of this tread. One of the mods mentioned it. I figure I should check it out, though I am NOT reading all of it.

Ohh, and I do my own SCIENCE.

I can't really blame them after seeing what kids are taught in school.

It is school in general, most teachers and administrators turn a blind eye to problems and then they wonder why kids bring guns to school. Get your ass kicked every day for thirteen years and tell me what you would do.

I am having to deal with it for the first time, We moved to California from Alabama, obviously we have a southern accent. My oldest son is constantly bullied at school because he is different. What does dad do? Dad teaches him how to punch and how to fight dirty. Also I told him next time someone touches him and the teachers do nothing, make an example of him and no one will mess with you again.

That is what it takes. Instead of everyone being victims you fight back. That's what I did in school and I came out okay. So did most people I know.
