That's almost Mill Creek or Lynnwood down there. Or maybe Mukilteo! I know the four cities have been having turf wars rezoning and trying to expand their tax base for years.
I believe it's within Everett's limits, but yeah it's close… We're down in Gig Harbor, thankfully it hasn't quite as bad in the turf wars down here…

Y'all don't have fried okra in those parts?
Not often, no. Dickeys is one of the few places I can find it (and they have a really good light breading that is mmmmmmmmmmmmmm fine). There's a Church's not too far away that claims okra on their online menu list, but haven't stopped by to check if that location has it. Other than that, not anywhere I have found.

It can be tough to find.

Used to be a place in downtown Everett called Alligator Soul, they had it. Hush puppies too. Real ones.
Mmmmmmm, love those hushpuppies too! That would certainly put a crimp in my weight loss plans… Love the name, still in business?

Until fried okra is available more places, no K3!

Gig Harbor.

Mrs. Racer and I went to Morso just before Christmas to have dinner and enjoy a performance of The Bobs.

A most enjoyable evening.

But no fried okra.

And no hociR.

Hmm, driven past there a bazillion times. Just looked at their menu and might be worth a try too :-) I doubt if I'd be allowed any camera, let alone a hociR… But on a clear day, the view from that end of the harbor is pretty darn nice!

What are they gonna say about Pentaxdude? What are they gonna say? That he was a kind man? That he was a wise man? That he had plans, man? That he had wisdom? That he created this thread, then sat back and watched while it became the Monster That Ate Cincinnati
Racer, try and stay on the topic: It is Tokyo that that will get monstered! And I'm not sure that Pentaxdude had anything to do with that!

You had the choice of a hat or a camera? And you took the hat?!

No, they gave the camera to a nice lady who is active on the Pentax forum at DPReview. I was first runner-up and got a hat.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation! My guess (had it been correct) would have made you a turkey of the finest order!

There were several groupies of The Bobs with cameras there. Stoopit Phones. Those tablet phone things. Point and shoots. And DSLR gear, Canikons, and Olympus and a Pentax or two.

I was disappointed that I didn't bring my camera.

So, do you know The Bobs?

You know I try.

Bacon.

Cheese.

Lefse.

Pickled Herring.

Kidney stones.

I have a really nice Snap-On jacket that cost me about $5,839.

But it came with a free tool box.

And a MAC jacket that cost $4,823.

That came with this toolbox free! The tools were extra though. A lot extra.

And a K3 was not involved.

You have probably saved yourself from some terrible penance from the heavy handed Parallax.

Nah.

I say "three Hail Megapixels" every day as a precaution.

Have you examined whether all the food stuff in any way complies with the three main food groups? Would we die of malnutrition if we just stuck to bacon, cheese, hamburgers, and all the other stuff mentioned here?
If you haven't done some sort of analysis you have wasted your time reading through again!
Maybe we would not die, but there was a movie about something like that!

The Spring after the K-7 was released, the good people from Pentax Imaging (USA) did a multi-city tour of the U.S. where they would rent a meeting room and present the camera to potential buyers and anyone else who might be interested. One of the main draws of the tour was that they were giving one free camera away at each city. I arranged to take a long lunch the day of their Portland* engagement and showed up for the presentation. As a reward, I got to play with the newly released DA 15/4 Limited. I also was allowed about 20 minutes with a K7 and was could freely mount any of the various lenses that I had brought with me. Woo! Hoo!

Unfortunately mine was the second name drawn from the big fish bowl and I won a hat. The camera went to a lady from Portland who was totally thrilled to be its new owner.

Steve

* Yes, Portland. If I remember correctly, the West Coast leg of the tour included Seattle, Portland and San Francisco. I think the full tour was only eight cities. Why Portland? I think it was probably because the area is crawling with serious photographers.
