Better send a message to the marketing group at Nissan.

While you're at it you might mention that they need to go back to Datsun. Pentax is not the only company that is having an identity crisis.

Here in Tennessee people talk funny once you get 30-40 miles from Nashville.

The first time my (then future) wife visited some of my family in Pushmataha County (OK) ... she could not understand much and she had/has a very good level of English. I had to work at it, too. J

Well when y'all get down Lozy-Anna way there is a great place to get crawfish. Steamboat Bills off of I-10, Lake Charles, exit 29 Eastbound, 30A Westbound.

Mmmmmmm . . . . . . . tasty!

It'll fill yore hungry spot, yeah.

Well, my youngest daughter was transplanted from Minnesota to North Carolina and her rendition of Senglish (southern English) has a few gaps in geographical experience. Georgia, SC and NC she can speak fluently, but the drawl turns into an uplifted question, as in "Doncha know?" I get to visit Savannah in May for her wedding to an Army JAG Corps captain. Should be fun and filled with photo ops for my soon to arrive hociR K3.

Up North, I scoop net craw dads in the spring just as the ice shrinks from the shore on the lake. Boil them up and smash them open with a stainless steel "crab hammer" I have owned since fishing Dungeness crab from Morro Bay, CA back in the mid 1970s. Hammers work the best for cracking crabs and craw dads. Never tried the hammer with lobster. Elder daughter lives in southern New Hampshire and we always visit Boston whe we see her for "Legal Seafood" on Boylston Street. Always get lobster. But I think they would confiscate my stainless steel crab hammer if I walked in with it hanging from my belt.

My whole life I have been able to slip into a suthun drawl when around southerners, and many have asked me where in the South I was from. Reading your post made me curious, so I tried to say "sure, you betcha" with a southern drawl.
I dislocated my right TMJ and sprained my tongue.

That's funny.

Mrs. Racer gets annoyed at me when I return from a lap of North America, as each visit to the deep South has me returning home with a drawl.

Then there was the Good Ole Boy down in Roanoke some years back. I had a dispatch to pick up some equipment, and when I arrived he asks, "Yew ain't fum aroun' heah, aw yew?"

I replied, "No sir, what was your first clue?"

He says, "Iss yer aksent!"

"My accent?" I inquired.

Now this dude was real proud of his knowledge of dialects, and he proudly proclaimed, "Yer Canadan!"
